Driven by the desire for an authentic and natural style, and by the need to free herself from passing trends, Virginia Prontera founded FORTEPIANO in 2020 out of a deep passion for fashion, cultivated since childhood. Through experiences in the industry, luxury shoe craftsmanship, and luxury fashion retail, she gained knowledge of materials, design, creation, and sales processes. She also learned to value longevity and to appreciate the importance of reducing waste, starting again from collected pieces to create a wardrobe that stands the test of time.

FORTEPIANO is a styling-led curated resale concept focused on timeless, high-quality wardrobe pieces, spanning from vintage to recent collections and based in Italy. Guided by instinct and styling, and privileging quality fabrics and contemporary design, the research is carried out exclusively in person by Virginia. Each piece is selected by hand, one by one, to ensure that both the condition of the garment and its quality meet the standards she wants to offer. The result is a selection of timeless garments designed to last over time.

What does Virginia collect and sell?

The selection includes vintage, second-hand and deadstock gems, as well as recent collections. Disused garments and production waste — everything that already exists outside the frenetic and highly polluting cycle of clothing and material production. She also likes to include a small, curated selection of objects and little treasures.
